A fantastic panoramic circular tour, starting from the village of Avelengo, along the beautiful high plateau with stunning views and a great deal of wonderful opportunities for a pitstop. The ascent to the Leadneralm inn isn’t too steep, then continue along good forest paths to the Malga di Verano. Follow the Alta Via di Avelengo to the Auener Joch/Giogo dei Prati pass. From the pass, a trail takes you quite steeply up to Monte Croce (accessible to technically accomplished mountain bikers – otherwise there are short stretches where you’ll have to push). From here, the journey takes you over the large plateaus on an easily accessible trail, all the while with the Picco Ivigna and Plata summits in view, to Passo della Croce and on to the Rifugio Merano on Merano 2000. A short descent through the forest to Falzeben and back to the starting point in Avelengo.

Cycling though our magical mountain world at 2000m above sea level is a truly wonderful experience. Add to that the fact that you do so at the foot of Picco Ivigna, this will be an unforgettable day for the whole family!
